The Celts Golf Club

This month’s tournament was played at Vistabella golf club.  With 28 members and 14 guests registered for the day we looked forward to some competitive golf and good scores.  The day was cold to begin with but as is the case here on the Costa it was not long before we were enjoying perfect playing conditions.  The course again was in pristine condition and the greens, what can we say other than excellent.  Some more than others suffered on the very fast and undulating surfaces and it was down to local member Wim Schmitz to show us how it was done. 

We would like to thank Pablo and Mariano and the staff at Vistabella for their assistance in ensuring that we had a very pleasurable day out.  The results were as follows in the members section we had in first place Wim Schmitz with 40pts.  It was so nice to see a new face in the winner’s enclosure. Second place went to our President John O’Brien 38 pts. Third was our returned from the islands John Coholan with 34pts.  Gross Camillus Fitzpatrick 28pts.  We decided to introduce a prize for those who are federated in Valencia and this went to Kevin Fitzpatrick with 32 pts.  Our brandy crystal winners on the day were Dave Kirk with 34 pts and Logan Nayager with 32 pts.  We had 12 visitors and in first place was Brian Wensley with 38pts:  Second Kevin Albright 33 pts.  NTP’s went to hole 3 Kevin Fitzpatrick, hole 8 Camillus Fitzpatrick holes 10,14 and 18 John O’Brien and hole 15 Noel Murray. 

Our next tournament our Christmas hamper competition is arranged for Roda on the 15^th of December.  The competition will be a team event and there will be an open draw to select your team on the day. A team will consist of a member of the varying handicap categories.  If you must cancel give as much notice as possible as others will be depending on you on the day.  Demand is very high and we only have 8 places left so please contact me ASAP.  Presentation of prizes will be at Rocajuna that night and we will be having a Christmas party and celebrations all are welcome.
